Bumped
Summary
Bumped is a young adult dystopian novel written by Megan McCafferty. The book is set in a future world where a virus has made everyone over the age of 18 infertile, and the only way to have children is through surrogacy.
The novel follows the story of two teenage girls, Melody and Harmony, who are identical twins but were raised in vastly different environments. Melody has been groomed to become a celebrity surrogate, while Harmony has grown up in a strict religious community that rejects surrogacy as immoral.
As Melody prepares to enter the lucrative world of surrogacy, she meets a boy named Zen who challenges her beliefs and causes her to question the morality of the surrogacy industry. Meanwhile, Harmony begins to explore the outside world and the possibilities of a life beyond the strict confines of her community.
Published by Balzer + Bray, an imprint of HarperCollins, the book is recommended by the publisher for readers aged 14 and up.
