Summary
City of Bones is the first novel in "The Mortal Instruments" series by Cassandra Clare. It introduces readers to a world filled with shadowhunters, demons, vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural beings. The story begins with fifteen-year-old Clary Fray, who unwittingly witnesses a murder at a New York City club, only to discover that the murderers are shadowhunters—warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons.
