Summary
Outlander is a historical fiction novel by Diana Gabaldon, the first in a series that blends romance, adventure, and time travel. The story follows Claire Randall, a former British combat nurse who is mysteriously transported from 1945 to 1743 Scotland. Thrust into an unknown world, Claire navigates a tumultuous time of Highland clans and Jacobite risings. As she tries to find a way back to her own time, Claire becomes entangled in a passionate and complicated relationship with Jamie Fraser, a gallant young Scottish warrior.
