Library Exposed Unveils New Look and Features

Library Exposed, a website that spotlights potentially controversial or harmful books within the Rockwood School District (RSD), recently relaunched with a new logo and updated features. Since its inception in November 2021, the site has provided parents with relevant excerpts from books, presented without commentary, so that they can make informed decisions about the reading materials their children are exposed to.

The website has gained a loyal following among local parents and educators who are concerned about the books that are accessible in schools. A parent of a RSD student recounted,

“When I was concerned about books at my child’s middle school, the parents at Library Exposed helped me with the book challenge process. When we discovered the biased nature of the book review committee, they didn’t accept that as the final decision. They helped to push for more transparency through the school librarian and assistant superintendent, and they brought awareness to state officials. Thank you, Library Exposed, for being 100% committed to protecting our children and the rights of parents to know what is in our schools and remove it when the school district is breaking obscenity laws!”

While the site was initially geared towards the Rockwood School District, parents nationwide have found it to be helpful. A mother in Florida expressed her gratitude,

“I am very grateful for the work you have done. We have found many of your books in our schools, and we have a team of mighty moms disputing them, using your site for reference. Thank you again for your efforts to protect our children!”

Library Exposed has also been a valuable tool in raising awareness of the issue of controversial books. A reader of the site reported,

“My husband and I were discussing all of the inappropriate books and indoctrination in the public schools with my sister the other day, and she said she just couldn’t believe that materials like that would be in the schools. She is a devout Democrat and thought we were just spouting talking points and misinformation. We showed her Library Exposed so she could see firsthand what our nation’s kids are exposed to. She was really shocked and agreed with us that it was inappropriate and had nothing to do with educating our youth. She doesn’t have children or grandchildren, so she had no idea about the state of our school systems. Because of the news she reads, she was uneducated about this issue. I appreciated having a site I could use to show her the truth.”

The relaunch of the Library Exposed website includes not only a new logo and improved navigation, but also a news blog. Stories related to RSD and controversial books at the state and national level will be published, and readers are encouraged to subscribe to receive them directly in their inbox.

The team at Library Exposed is committed to empowering parents with the information necessary to make informed decisions about the reading materials their children are exposed to. They encourage anyone with a tip to contact them through their website.
