All the Bright Places
Summary
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven is a young adult novel that explores themes of mental health, love, and dealing with grief. The story centers around two Indiana high school students, Violet Markey and Theodore Finch, who meet on the ledge of their school's bell tower, both contemplating suicide. Their chance encounter marks the beginning of a complex relationship, with each dealing with their personal struggles.
Violet is grappling with the recent death of her sister, which has left her withdrawn and unable to enjoy the things that once brought her joy. Finch, on the other hand, is an eccentric and unpredictable boy who struggles with undiagnosed bipolar disorder. Together, they embark on a project to discover the "natural wonders" of their state, which becomes a journey of self-discovery and healing for both.
Published by Knopf, All the Bright Places is targeted towards young adults.
